America, all greed
America, all greed
America, all greed
If the rich save money because they don't have to spend it, and the poor spend money simply to live; Perhaps we should tax the top 1% of our Nation's earners 6% (on top of their current tax rates) and give it to the lowest 80% of our Nation's earners. What would that do to our Nation's economy you so called "experts"?
Why will this never happen? The poor can't afford to donate to their local politician's (the men and women they are forced to vote into office) campaing fund.
Perhaps unregulated capitalism isn't quite all it is cracked up to be. Unless, of course you happen to be lucky enough to be in the top 1% of our Nations earners. Shame on all of us for letting this go as long as it has. If ever there was a time to change something it is now. Before we reap the potential economic rewards of a completely globalized free economy, where the rich will continue to get richer and the poor will stay the same.
Minimum wage doesn't even cover the current cost of living. In any state. How is that possible? How can a country that was built on equality for all be so obviously unequal? And it is not too much to ask that we attempt to help each other. Because this is how I see some plan like this working out, and correct me if I'm wrong.
Those who are the top 1% of our earners are the ones who own the majority of our larger businesses. So by taxing them more, and giving the money to the lower 80% of our Nation's earners, all we would be doing, in the long run, is giving that money back to the corporations. Because the people will spend money if they have it. And who will the corporations give that money too? Inevitably, in our current system, the top 1% of our Nation's earners.
Meaning the economy gets a much needed boost and no initial funding is needed. All that happens is the Uber rich don't make as much money today, but in the long run they will continue to be making more money then any one else. Blood sucking greedy ticks, or leeches or bats what ever you wish to call them. They want their money now though. Not tomorrow.
If we want to start changing things in this Nation to benefit everyone, we need to start thinking of ways that will mutually benefit all, and not just a select few.
If you give the people money that isn't in the economy (I.e. newly printed money) it will only cause inflation. This in theory, should prevent that, because this money is already being used in our economy. It's regulated capitalism. The greedy will still get what they want, massive amounts of money, and the poor will get what they need, enough money to not have to work 2 jobs to make ends meet, and some extra spending money. Which means more jobs will become available. Less unemployment sounds good, right?
Less unemployment means even more spending, which, again, in turn means another boost to our economy. Which again would benefit everyone if this 6% tax was in place. How rich do the rich need to be? How much influence should they have over our nation? Not any more then you and I according to my thoughts. But then again who am I but a 22 year old young man who can't find a job because of our current economic troubles.
It's pretty simple in my eyes at the moment, the rich have the capacity to take this 6% extra tax hit to their pay check, and help the rest of us poor saps help them and their companies out. Why help your fellow man though? When you already have everything you want. Greed is what has caused this economic downturn, and it will destroy America as we know it, unless it is curtailed at some point.
