This may be a little difficult with very young children but it is an important lesson for them to learn. The pup will become loving and loyal to children once trained well.

You will have to think if you will be able to handle a dog that is as large as this breed and if your children will be comfortable around a large breed of this size. Also, these dogs tend to eat a lot more because of their size when compared to the smaller breeds. You will have to keep the financial aspect in mind while selecting your pet. Other than that, American bulldogs tend to be very loyal, intelligent and lovable.
