Women's History Month isn't recognized that much. As a women I would like to write about it, and recognize how wonderful we are, but you Men already know that. Women have been trying to do Men's jobs as far back as the 1800's I know of. Women would dress up like Men to be able to sail on ships because they would not except women back then. They obviously were able to do the job just as others. It was established in 1911 in Europe on March 8th. U.S. Congress passed a resolution establishing National Women's History Week. There are so many women in the world to thank. Who would not want to have that special women beside them while they are out fishing, hiking, or camping. While sitting on the Porch watching the sun go down, can be very romantic, even with a couple of Solar Lights out in the yard.

We all have to thank our Moms and Grandmas for all the great loving they give. I know I have one of the greatest Mom's in the world. She is a worry wart, and I now do that. It's not a bad thing though. I have spent a majority of my time going to sea, and now I'm just enjoying life in my new home. Going to sea for a living has it's challenges, you can be a watch stander and when you pull into port, you are lucky to get time off. It you work on deck, Most likely your nights and weekends are free. You can have a life. So I carried Deck grinders around, Sanders, Needle Guns, and did maintenance just like everyone else. When it came to running the rigs, I was more of the advanced persons. Did I feel like I had to prove myself as a women? Maybe, but who would not want to run the equipment in a booth, and stay out of the elements.

So the next time you are out and about, buy that special female friend a gift to make her feel special. If you would rather go do something fun. Take them on a trip, you don't have to go far. 45 minutes down the road we go stay at haunted houses, while enjoying the old historic towns. 30 minutes down the road, go to old western towns, It's that easy. Always remember when you smile, you will usually get a smile back.
