An article recently published by the Newsweek Magazine indicated that by the end of the decade, fifty percent of American households will be engaged in home internet business.

Home-based businesses are considered "second class" before. However, the recent trends in the technology and economy steadily defy this idea by expanding home businesses.

Americans are constantly looking for ways in order to deflect the effects of recession. The drastic increase of sales for computers, printers, filing cabinets, telephones, and work stations point out that more and more people choose to work at home.

The Delbenhams department store also stated that in the past year alone, the store has experienced a 340 percent of sales increase for their home office furniture.

There are many attractions to home internet business like convenience and diversity. People no longer have to be somewhere, dress up for work, or answer to a supervisor. Working at home also means more time with the family and lesser expenses.

Home enterpreneurs also have many business options. Some sell products that are close to their creative side like Christmas and home ornaments, quilts, and toys. Women promote products like lingerie and make-up through hosting a party at home.

Men mostly choose to fill in occupational posts like tax preparers, consultants, architects, accountants and real estate salesmen. Other home enterpreneurs work as internet marketers.

Recent studies show evidence that home-based businesses continue to flourish even amidst recession. This is a far cry from the less than thirty percent success rate of traditional business start-ups.

People are losing confidence to traditional jobs. This convinces them to work at home whether for part-time or full-time basis.

A research and consultant firm from California called Emergent Research stated that home enterpreneurs are considered a vital economic force. The October 2009 publication also stated that 6.6 million Americans are already into home internet business.
