The reason I wanted to make this post is because there are still so many network marketers that are thinking too small when it comes to marketing their business. The reason why, is because network marketing companies teach their distributors to focus on building their down-line within that company.

For instance, if you were to put up PPC (pay per click) ads to market your business, you could only target your company keywords. You can't really target other network marketing companies if you are leading by promoting YOUR opportunity. This would just be a "my company is better than yours," situation.

So how do you actually broaden your target market?

That is a great question, and it is one that you should be asking yourself if you want to expand your business.

The answer to the question is this. You need to lead with valuable information. You base your marketing around offering value to the prospect, whether it be information or whatever else. The KEY is to give value to the prospect before you introduce your opportunity.

When you market your business in this way, it allows you to market to ANYONE in the entire industry! Think about it...

When you offer valuable information that is going to help people grow their business, it is going to put you in a leadership position. If you can teach someone how to grow their business and make money, then they will be much more likely to work with you in your opportunity.

When you lead by offering value, you can target any leader or any company in the industry. When you expand your target market, it makes it easier for you to get leads for you business because you have a lot more prospects.

The value that you want to lead with could be something that you have learned, or anything that has helped you in your business. If you don't feel like you have anything to offer you can learn the most cutting edge marketing from the gurus themselves.

When you learn cutting edge online marketing techniques, you will become very attractive to potential prospects. They will see that you can help them grow their business using the newest technology and marketing available.

When you market by leading value, you are not only amplifying your target market, but you are also positioning yourself as an attractive leader. This is going to make your marketing efforts far easier and more effective.
