An All-round Performance The Sony Ericsson S312

, it would be totally surprising to see why phones like the Sony Ericsson S312 does better than most other models of its type. With Sony Ericsson, one always somehow expects a unique design aesthetic. The S312 definitely answers this well, with a neat 2.0 inch TFT display and a keypad that speaks of elegance and usability. At around 12.5 mm, the Sony Ericsson S312 is one of the thinnest phones you'd ever see. With dedicated buttons for the camera, volume controls, and other shortcuts, the phone comes with lots of user-friendly features. The Sony Ericsson S312 also boasts of a scratch-resistant surface and a metallic-finish that adds sturdiness to the phone. The phone is compact, handy and light-weight too at just about 80 grams.

Tracing the media features, we find that the phone is equipped with a 2 MP camera. For many purposes, a 2 MP camera with LED flash is quite enough and that is what the S312 aims at. You can record videos and click pictures of favorite moments and freeze them forever on the phone or through Memory Stick Micro up to 4GB. Elegance is the order with S312 with its neat media player supporting MP3 audio formats and MP4 videos. You also get a stereo FM radio for entertainment non-stop. What is all the more impressive is that, within this compact phone, Sony Ericsson has decided to include the TrackID music recognition app that lets you find your favorite song just by listening to a few seconds of the tune. Amazingly, the phone also is quite rich in its audio quality and options to use MP3 songs as ringtones.

As far as connectivity is concerned, the Sony Ericsson S312 appears with GPRS, EDGE for network connectivity and Bluetooth and USB for file / data sharing. The EDGE lets you get connected at speeds of about 240kbps which is quite sufficient for usual browsing. The WAP browser helps you in website browsing and the Email app built in the S312 lets you manage your email from no matter where you are. You can transfer files and data through Bluetooth or even receive through the same and the USB port definitely helps more in this regard. There are many more applications on the phone, like the composer, the Organizer and the Voice Memo.
