An Expert Shares: Safe Hands Transfers and Timeshare Scams

When I first started in this business, I immediately experienced the sort of scams plaguing the timeshare industry

. It was during my first weekend, while I was handling a Pueblo Bonito timeshare membership being transferred. I asked the girl at the front desk to make several copies of the contract, when she said "Oh, that is a great resort." I asked if she owned a timeshare, to which she replied "Oh no, my boyfriend and I just went online, and we rented a place for fifty bucks a night." At that moment, I realized I was in a much-needed industry. People don't really need timeshares, and they are getting scammed big time.

In the years since, I have seen countless such cases of owners being ripped off. All the customers that come to Safe Hands Transfers are doubtful, and understandably so; they have been fooled by their timeshare company, listing companies, and in some cases even by other owners and lawyers who gave bad advice. So when these people come to me, I pay close attention to what THEY tell me.

A few weeks ago, I met a man in Columbia, MO who had $6,300 in annual maintenance fees. He had over a million points that he could use, but the problem was that he had emphysema and had not been able to travel for a few years. As such, he was paying over $500 per month for something that has zero value to him or anyone else. He looked us up on the BBB and did some rental market research, as well as resale market research as we sat there at the table.

He calculated that he would be overpaying his vacation every year, if he did use every point available to him, instead of just renting a vacation condo (aka timeshare) through Expedia or Orbitz, or any number of internet travel sites. He also saw that his resort had an equivalent batch of points for less than $5 on eBay. It had no bids on it. He determined that his timeshare was therefore valueless to him and to the impersonal forces of the free market economy.

Through the years, I have met people who have done their homework. Thanks to them, the matter has been brought to the higher authorities, through complaints to Senators, state Attorney Generals and the Federal Trade Commission. Intelligent and educated people now agree that there is no reason to own a timeshare. And purchasing a timeshare today means shelling out money for an expensive lie.

Whether people own a timeshare in Mexico that has a real expiration date, or a perpetual contract with Ultimate Escapes or BlueGreen, they need not be burdened anymore. Safe Hands Transfers has been benefitting hundreds of timeshare owners every week, thousands every month!

Every single timeshare owner that Safe Hands Transfers, LLC meets with has the opportunity and is encouraged to do their due diligence. We are there to help and to guide. We have the research tools (thanks, Google and others!) and we travel the country to meet people F2F, face to face, so they can ask all the questions and we can answer all their concerns. There are too many dangers and scams out there in the timeshare industry. Safe Hands Transfers is not a scam: we are the answer.
