A lot of people starting online go through a lot of information

. In fact their first couple of weeks, months or even years is known as information overload as they are wandering aimlessly online without any direction. They jump from one product to another in search for the magic formula. They try a product for a short period of time and decide it's not working for them so they move on to something different. They may even get frustrated and quit just before they even reach success.

So why is it that so many people fail online and what can you do to breakthrough and be a part of the minority as opposed to the majority? An important aspect that is often missed when starting out online is to find a coach or mentor that you can model. It is proven that with someone's help you can achieve greater success than you would on your own.

When it comes to internet marketing, unless you are knowledgeable in this area already, it is recommended that you find a mentor when you start off right away. This will cut your learning curve in half and prevent you from making timely mistakes as well as costly mistakes. There are people that think they can do it on their own as the information they buy says they can. However, if you have a coach that can guide you in the right direction and be there to walk you through the process, it is a lot better.

When looking for an internet marketer to follow make sure you do a search on them and that they have references to back up what they claim. For instance if they say they have helped so and so then look that other person up as well and make sure that they did in fact help them. A lot of people can claim that they've done this and that but many of them can't prove it. It is best to see for yourself if it is true or not.

One way to do this is through their blog, if they have one established. If they are a true internet marketer then they will have a blog. Here you will find information that they have published to their readers. You will also get to know them a little bit better and get to know more about their personality through their writing style. You will also get to see how they interact with you, if you comment on their blog and how they interact with others. If they are genuine and have a willingness to help at all times then this is a strong indication that their own product delivers.

You also want to find something that you can relate to with to them. Whether it is that you come from the same place or even the same work background, it is always a plus if you can relate to their story in some way. Seeing what struggles they have gone through and how they overcame it to get to where they are now is very powerful and something that can inspire you and motivate you to take action.

Once you've found a mentor and have signed up to be in their coaching program it is important to build rapport with them as well. Depending on the conditions of the coaching program, some may give you one on one access to them. If this is the case then make sure you ask as many questions as you can and build a relationship with them as well. After all, you never know what it can lead to in the future.

If there is one thing and one thing only that you can do when starting online, getting a coach or mentor to help you on your journey is the most crucial to your success. Why go through all the struggles when someone out there has already been there and done that and are willing to teach you so that you don't have to make the same mistakes they made. Find a mentor that you can relate to and has a proven system of making money and you will surely be on your way to making money as well.
