There have been thousands of reports and articles from iPhone 4 owners about the

iPhone 4 and the signal issues they are experiencing.The common issues that everyone is talking, writing and blogging about is the complete loss of cell services and data on the iPhone 4.

Everything seems to point to the way you use your iPhone, or more specifically, the way you hold your iPhone.The iPhone 4 reception issue.While it may sound silly, it's a very real problem for thousands of iPhone 4 owners. I use my iPhone 4 daily, for several hours a day as I commute and make my calls to and from customers and the office.When the iPhone 4 is held in the most natural way in your hands, there is a complete and total loss of all signal from the antenna and even data is not available. The call signal quality and strength can drop from a full 5 bars right down to no more than one single bar, and often complete go away which in turn drops your phone call.

Apple has been slow to address this issue, stating only that holding it in this way will show a drop in your signal, and that the signal bar issues will be fixed in an upcoming software update, and have to do with the signal strength not actually being correct.To be honest, I have a very tough time accepting that this is the cause of all those dropped bars and dropped calls, even though this is the only official word from Apple themselves.

There is a quick fix out there for this issue, and it has to do with having an iPhone 4 case on your iPhone.With a case on the iPhone 4, Consumer Reports confirms that the signal loss is gone and it doesn't matter how you hold your iPhone. It is yet another indication that there is in fact something very wrong with the internal design of the iPhone 4 itself.As a result of always getting a case for my gadgets, and the iPhone 4 case I bought was purchase the day I got my iPhone 4, I have had no issues with dropped calls or poor signal strength.it is a very expensive item, so spending just $10.00 - $20.00 on a good looking, and more important - a protective case just seems like good old common sense to me.I certainly don't want scratches or scuffs on my iPhone 4, but that doesn't take away from the problem I have with this whole signal issue going on with a brand new phone.

The popular gadget news blog Gizmodo has posted about a rumoured Apple silent recall for the iPhone 4 for select iPhone 4 owners.Swapping out their iPhone 4 with a new one from Apple, and as such, the signal and antenna issue does not seem to be a problem on the swapped out iPhone 4's.Apple themselves have not publicly stated that there is any type of recall going on, and as such we have to treat this talk of a silent recall as nothing more than a rumour.But some iphone 4 owners are noticing, and stating openly online, that the problem has gone away once they use their replacement units. While others continue to have a problem, unless of course, they put their iPhone 4 back in an iPhone case again.
