The most interesting part of the Temple of Heaven of China is its Echo Wall

. It environs the Vault, and is renowned for its acoustics. When reflected through the wall, even a whisper from a hundred feet away is noticeably echoed back, as if someone is very closer to your ear. Next to the wall is the Altar of Heaven, built completely of white marble. The altar has four entries and then nine steps leading down in each direction. At the hub of the upper terrace resides a circle stone delimited by nine concentric rings of stones.
