The R4 SDHC card is probably the world's smallest memory card

. It currently holds the position of being the best in the DS slot-1 flash cards available in the market today. It is compatible with any micro SD card and has no delay in the speed of the game.

The R4 is the original DSi card manufactured on the R4 series. It was also a product of the R4 SDHC composite team which provides for the Nintendo DSi and it also complements the Nintendo DS and the Nintendo Lite versions of the famous game. After originally working only for the Japanese version of the DSi, the initial R4 cards, after some upgrades from its Firmware principal, became more accessible and compatible with the other versions.

There was an inadvertent mishap in the original manufacture of the R4 SDHC card by its makers. Because of this, the first set of r4 sdhc cards would not be able to function well with the Firmware version 1.4 and its Nintendo DSi application. This has effectively stopped the distribution and selling of this first generation cards.

To make a clarification, the makers of the subsequent R4 SDHC cards are not the same as the ones who made the first set of the cards. The official website's carrier cards, the DS and the DS Lite cards have the third version of the said cards and are obviously not the originals. There has to be some distinction made in the difference between the makers of the series of cards.

The NDS-Gear has proudly sold the first Edge DS card which was considered the most reliable card during that time, as it had a very miniscule failure rate of only 1 in a thousand. The production of high technology and great performing DS cards became famous in the United Kingdom and in other western countries that it came as a shock to learn that the Edge DS card's production was stopped sometime in October 2009.

But afterwards, it was discovered that the reason for the discontinuance of the Edge DS card was that an iEdge card was already in the research and development phase, and it was a much modern card that would be compatible with all the Nintendo peripherals and consoles of modern use today. With the introduction of the iEdge DS in January 2010, a lot of people were gratified and pleased, and the evolution of the R4 SDHC cards took a rapid turn for the better.

All the NDS games are adaptable with the R4 SDHC cards, and these cards have adaptability in terms of the games' cheat codes and the light touch reset features, which altogether prevent any unusual deficiencies. These characteristics are designed to make the usage of these applications easier and ensure smooth experience in gaming even for new users. The R4 SDHC cards deliver multimedia functions with better performance and resolution from its predecessor cards.
