"And God Created Woman" is a French drama film released in 1956 which starred Brigitte Bardot in the lead role and was directed by Roger Vadim.

The plot follows Juliette who is an orphan aged 18 years old with quite a high degree of amorous and sexual liveliness. Throughout the film she leaves no doubts about this as she goes about portraying her sensuality through various means such as lying naked on the bed, walking barefoot many a time and not caring about societal constraints or the opinions that others hold. Naturally, such behavior on her part creates a stir and attracts the attention of most of the men that she is around.

Juliette's first suitor is a man called Eric Carradine who is very wealthy as well as a lot older than Juliette. Carradine's wish is to construct a new casino in the town however his plans are being foiled by the Tardieu famly. The Tardieus own a small shipping yard on the same land that Carradine needs for building the casino.

The eldest of the Tardieu sons, Antoine, comes home for the weekend to talk over the situation and it turns out that Juliette is waiting so that he can take her with him to wherever he is going. However, Antoine doesn't have any long term intentions with regard to Juliette and he ends up leaving without taking her anywhere.

Meanwhile, Juliette's guardians are fed up with her many antics and episodes and thus consider sending her back to the orphanage.

Carradine's wish is to construct a new casino in the town however his plans are being foiled by the Tardieu famly.To try and keep her in the town, Eric Carradine pleads Antoine to marry her which Antoine does not agree to. However, Antoine's younger brother Michel happens to be in love with Juliette and thus proposes to her. Even though Juliette loves Antoine she ends up accepting Michel's proposal. Later, when Antoine is made to return to his home once and for all, the newlyweds experience trouble and all the men in Juliette's life come to terms with what she really means to each of them.
