With the launch of new devices in the market from various OEMs like Microsoft Surface
tablet and Apple iPad Mini there is great buzz in the mobile app market. It is because the top names in respective PCs and Smartphone industry are coming face to face to compete with Androids 7 inch Nexus 4 which is an established name in tablet market.
The launch of Apple iPad Mini is part of the planned strategy formed by to tap the 7 inch tablet market. Apple has unrivaled product in 10 inch tablet market that is iPad. More than half of the US population owns an iPad which tells its success story. But Apple was feeling unrest due to the extended success of Samsung Galaxy Nexus series tablet based on Android apps development. Though iPad Mini did not received the same response as for previous products. But then as per experts it has the potential to lure the customers interested in investing on 7 inch tablets.
Microsoft is second player marking its notable entry into the tablet market with its Surface tablet. Microsoft is known name in the PC and software market. But somehow it is still struggling hard to make its space in the smartphone industry. It has made its debut in smartphone with Nokia Lumia series and latest one with Nokia Lumia 920 based on Windows 8. The new devices both smartphone and tablets looks very promising. The new tablet is loaded with great features enough to satisfy the user to buy one. It is also clear Windows market share is very as compared to Apple and Android but then its freshness will certainly appeal quite good number of users. The only lackluster which may affect its sale is few applications in Windows Marketplace.
So, this is a wake up alarm for Android developers that they have two big names in their competition which are equally equipped with qualified and experienced developers along with technology and resources. The tablet market is all set to make blooming business from now. The users expectations will certainly rise as they will get closer with the devices. This will draw lots of pressure on developers to deliver what users expect and make their product at par from others. Android application developers will now also have to take care of the rising issues of malware and fragmentation which may backfire its popularity and market share.
