In the year 1963, the life of a young boy called Andy Evans changed forever
. He had witnessed a Can-Am race that year and fell head over heels in love with the sport. At the age of twelve he knew what he wanted to become in life and that it was a racecar driver. The very thought of participating in one of these high octane races brought joy to his heart. It is a fact that at that age many young boys have similar dreams, but only he was able to turn this passion into a career.
Evans started his career as a racecar driver during the mid-80s. He faced many problems during the first years of his career. These problems included maintaining his car, transporting it across the country from one event to another, and fulfilling the administrative obligations expected from him. He had to do all this without any crew members to help him.
Andy proved to the world that he was a professional racecar driver in the year 1990. The International Motor Sports Association noticed this and readily allowed him to join the association. He was granted membership in the associations Camel GT Lights class. The admission of Evans into this class hinted that he was capable of reaching great heights as a racecar driver. This he showed within a few years by driving on tracks that were among the most famous in the world. There were more adventures waiting for him in the 1990s.
At the beginning of his career, Andy Evans started an auto restoration firm which he called Scandia Engineering. During the 90s when his career was progressing well, a new venture started to take shape in his mind. He wanted to form a racing team of his own. The name of this team was Team Scandia. He wanted only spirited professionals to be a part of this team.
In the year 1994 he formed his team and managed to get some of the top drivers of the world to join it.
