Ann Arbor Art Center More Than Just A Gallery

With Art Makers Outreach Program at the Ann Arbor Art center teens who come from

financially limited families can attain skills for employment and life by learning to use creative and can even earn money through the part of Employment component of this program. Skills like the ones taught are much needed to ensure their success in their future ventures. It will also help them to gain a good working ethic as well.

Summer welcomes Creativity Camp camp for kids from four years to twelve to learn to use their creativity and imaginations and bring them to life through arts and crafts. Children can get in all of their exercise needs and enjoy outdoor activities in the nearby play yard. At the end of each week long camp children will be able to exhibit their work for other kids and parents to view.

There are also workshops and classes for adults which include photography, pottery, jewelry making and oil painting. You can sign up for pastel/charcoal classes and creating masterpieces in no time. The teachers are very highly trained and artistic and will be there by your side the whole way.

For wine lovers you are not left out either as there is also a Wine Fest each May. Here you will taste delectable foods that will make your mouth water and then sample elegant wines from all over the world. You can even join in on a silent auction or stroll about the Art Center grounds afterward.

Creature Capers is a fun and exciting scavenger hunt you and your children can join in. Clues will be given to you and your child as a team and you must scavenge the entire museum for the specific animal or mythological animal that your clue pertains too. These will be found inside paintings, as sculptures and more so keep your eyes on the look out you never know where they may be lurking.

Children from five and older can also hold birthday parties here which include up to two hours of fun. The guest of honor gets to design and make their very own party hat to wear. An adventure host will help all young adventurers and artist create their own works of art to take home with them after wards.

Ann Arbor Art Center is a great way to help support local artisans as well. They have a gallery full of local works of art including jewelry, pottery, paintings and so much more.
