In one more incident of Activist's getting killed who blow the lid on Corruption An Activist,from Jharkhand Niyamat Ansari who was working on the Implementation of (NREGA)The National Rural Employment Guarantee Act 2005,was brutally beaten up for exposing embezzlement of NREGA funds in Latehar.
RTI Activist's are blaming the Government of poor response to exposures of Corruption.
This incident is again more shocking as Niyamat Ansari who exposed the scam had already filed a Complaint against the Block Development Officer of the Manika block.
The National Rural Employment Guarantee Act aims at enhancing the livelihood security of people in rural areas by guaranteeing hundred days of wage-employment in a financial year to a rural household whose adult members volunteer to do unskilled manual work.
Niyamat Ansari was striving hard to get the poor their rights and in the midst of that had exposed several frauds in the Scheme for which he paid with his life,such was the state that even a ambulance couldn't reach till him and he was carried on a cot and by the time the family members reached him to the hospital he had expired.
This incident again raises Questions on the UPA Government or we can say all the State Governments, who actually have not been able to protect whistle blowers. Niyamat Ansari worked tirelessly not for his benefit, but for the Poorest of Poor so that a Conducive ,Non-Corrupt and Transparent Environment is established which paves way for their Growth and the actual beneficiaries get their deserving right but the want of Justice got him killed.
The Government which is yet on the back foot for implementation of Lokpal Bill and Protection of RTI Activist's they will have to think fast, as Killings of Activist's is already tarnishing its marred image more,which in turn is proving out Corrupt are ruling the power houses in the Government and are the major culprits which the exposures too are proving either the Government needs to take a Stringent stand against the corrupt and root it out from the base,if they keep on making compromises as our Honourable PM stated in his justification the buck still comes on to them.
