The sight of the mist or cloud, the sound of the hiss, the scent which is unpleasant to dogs, and the element of surprise is often enough distraction to stop the barking. This type is also suitable to most sizes and ages. The only drawback here is that the lightweight spray tank can only contain as much as 20 spritzes at a time and needs to be refilled. An intelligent dog can quickly interpret a refilling break as a barking break.

These collars can also be integrated with Internet mapping capabilities and GPS for location and tracking and could serve as an anti-theft device to alert owners of their pet's whereabouts.
