There are many auctions of antique knives as well but the only downfall is the fact that you may be competing with other collectors and if they just so happen to have interest in the same knife as you, the price could be run up very rapidly. Another option you have is to buy more modern knives that havent gained the title of antique and keep them for a period of time until they become antique. This is a new trend among collectors as you can gain ownership of many knives at a very inexpensive price and it is similar to investing because the value of a well crafted, quality knife will do nothing but rise with time.
