Anxiety Disorder Symptoms
Most people have at one time or the other felt anxious
, but there's a difference between being anxious and having an anxiety disorder. One with an
anxiety disorder experiences the some symptoms until it reaches a point they interfere with their social life and activities.
But even for those with this disorder, one can get treated in hospitals and the best thing is to seek timely medical attention. For one to seek medical attention for anxiety disorder, they must first know what signs and symptoms one ought to look out for. In that regard, the following are some of the symptoms of anxiety disorder.
First and foremost, one constantly gets tense, worried and on edge. One may also be plagued by fears which you know are irrational, but can not control. This fears and tension may increase to very high levels that one may have problems concentrating with their work, school, or even family responsibilities. Other people experience sudden and unexpected attacks of the heart pounding and a feeling of panic, or even feeling danger and catastrophe looming in every corner.
Suffice it to note that since
anxiety disorders are a combination of related conditions rather than a single disorder, the symptoms may vary from one person to the other. This I to say that while one individual may suffer intense anxiety attacks that strike without any prior warning, others may panic at the thought of something. In other words, others may experience the panic attacks as a result of a thought, which triggers the worry and panic. Yet, others may experience fears as a result of phobias or intrusive thoughts. So in essence, the anxiety disorder may vary from one person to the other, but there is one common thing about all of them. This is the fact all of them are characterized by a persistent fear or worry in situations that do not ordinarily threaten anyone, or in which most people would feel threatened.
The symptoms can also include restlessness, trouble with concentrating and irritability. Some of the symptoms are physical, like pounding of the heart, sweating, muscle tension, fatigue, insomnia, shortness of breath, dizziness, frequent urination and headaches.
When one notices the above symptoms occurring frequently, they should seek medical attention immediately. This because the earlier the disorder is detected, the easier it will be to treat it. Besides, anxiety disorders may rapidly deteriorate into depressions if untreated.
