Any Summer Plans Yet?

When it comes to planning summer vacation, Im not afraid to admit Im petrified

. There are so many things you have to consider, that I just get lost in it. Thats why this year Ive decided to get some help to save time and to keep my health intact. Some people would probably just go to a travel agency and get it done with, but I wanted to learn to do it myself in a more organized and less stressful way than in the previous years, so I asked a friend for help. She has a family of five and is a true expert at planning.

First off she had me think what kind of vacation I had in mind for this summer. After all, you look for different things if you want to go camping and something else is important when going away on a cruise ship. Of course dates were very important, as well as means of transportation to and from the vacation spot, accommodation, some attractions and dozens of other small details that I never even thought were important.

I thought of all the holidays of the past, ranging from a road trip all the way down Route 66, through a camping in one of the National Parks, to island hopping in the Caribbean, and decided this year was time for big bed, a beach nearby, night entertainment, meeting new people and lots of sun. I stayed in nice hotels and in shady motels in the past, and lets just say the former are a much better choice, so we decided to look through a listing of luxury vacation rentals Miami has spread all over the city. After all this there is a place that has it all when you want to have fun vacation.

We checked different websites to see what was going on in and around Miami at the time I could take off from work, and also read some opinions and ideas on a Miami lovers forum. Thats where I got the idea to see the Everglades Alligator Farm, go to the Seaquarium, and maybe go down to Key West for a day. I also already planned the evenings around most fun night spots in South Beach, on the casino boat and in some cosy restaurants eating all the seafood I can get.

The most important thing for me, though, is that Ill be staying in one of the fabulous luxury hotels in Miami, just a step away from the beach, so Ill be able to get enough sun to last me all year. I plan on swimming in the ocean, having a poolside massage or two, seeing the alligators, dancing my nights away and eating well. Basically I will just soak in the sun and Miami, and rest comfortably in a big, soft bed in an air-conditioned room.

And the funny thing is, I didnt need my friends help to plan all this, because as soon as I decided where to go I pretty much had the whole plan in head and just made a few calls to make all the necessary reservations. Now next year is a different story, because Im thinking a couple of weeks in Europe on the Mediterranean might be fun but booking all the travel and hotels in different countries is going to be a challenge.
