, it is all the more astounding that Anya Sushko, who originally studied architecture and interior design, has gone on to develop into one of the hottest new names within luxurious clutch bags design.

Or perhaps it was this background within structural motif that led to her success, as architectural elements are clearly visible within several of her styles and in the way that these bags are expertly constructed and finished.

Anya states quality as being her number one theme philosophy, sourcing only the finest leather, metal and handmade silver fittings from Italy which she calls the "building blocks" of her clutch bags. Her bags are swish yet understated, classic yet anything but plain and simple. The most recent assortment was made up in a palette of stone greys and black that would match any outfit, with designs ranging from small shoulder bags ideal for an evening out to the oversized Grande Sunburst bag to carry your day-to-day necessities.

The new assortment will also include a roomy day bag, based on a motif that Anya originally came up with for herself. "I created comfortable day-to-day clutch bags which can comfortably fit my folders and documents for when I leap from meeting to meeting. It was so practical and soft that I added it to the new range", she says, adding that despite being a handbag designer she does not within fact own very several bags herself. This is maybe understandable when you consider that she has, within her own words, "the luxurious of making the bag I should exactly when I need it" and that her bags are both designed and crafted to last.

Rather than following the latest fashion trends, Anya chooses to design gorgeous, expertly-made bags that will never go out of fashion. She describes the woman who chooses an Anya Sushko handbag as a strong, confident and stylish independent who doesn't need to be carrying the latest fashion accessory to feel on trend "because she is the trend".

So whatever does the future hold for Anya Sushko? "I'd worship to create bags for men!," she says, "Men value quality above all and understand the significant of eternal, elegant styles". For now though, she is sticking to women's handbags. The new assortment will be available in March. Anticipate bags with a lighter, softer, eventually more feminine appearance than in previous collections, but of course with the same craftsmanship and fine materials that set Anya's styles apart from the rest.
