clinic and embark on a treatment programme in order to overcome their addictions.

The first step for the addict is to admit that they have a problem which needs dealing with. The addict, preferably with the help of loved ones, can then start looking for the right rehabilitation clinic that will suit their needs. There are a variety of factors to consider when choosing the right treatment centre. All rehabilitation centres offer different types of accommodation and amenities but most centre around a common form of treatment programme. The treatment centres themselves can offer the programme over a length of time from 28 days up to 3 months.

When choosing a rehabilitation centre, you need to firstly look at the treatment programme on offer and over what length of time. You will also need to determine early on whether or not you will need to undergo detox at the start of your stay at the centre. This is really dependent on what your addiction is, and how severe it is. When you first make contact with a rehab clinic, a member of their staff will conduct an assessment so that they can decide whether that particular clinic is suitable for your needs and whether or not you need to begin with a detox before undertaking any treatment programme.

You shouldn't base your choice of rehabilitation clinic on location, you may need to travel further afield than your local area for the right clinic. Some clinics offer clients their own apartments, where they will have their own bedroom, kitchen and bathroom. Other clinics offer shared accommodation where you will share a room with another client or clients. Some offer shared housing where you will have your own room but it will be in a house where all clients living there share the bathroom and kitchen as well as cooking and cleaning. In these types of accommodation, one of the client's will be given the task of group leader. This is usually someone who is well into their treatment programme and can act as a buddy to a new client.

You should also try to find out the approx age group that that particular clinic attracts. If you are a middle age professional, you may not want to enter a clinic where predominantly they attract young offenders who have been referred there by the courts. Again if you are a young person, you may not want to enter a clinic where the average age group is 40 or 50.

Price is also a factor when it comes to rehabilitation clinics. They vary in price and can start from 3 thousand pounds up to the region of 22 thousand pounds. This doesn't necessarily mean that the more expensive the clinic, the better the treatment programme or success rates though. Some of the cheaper clinics have a higher success rate than those which are at the expensive top end of the market.
