Did you purchase a first-generation iPad in the last two weeks and kick yourself when the price dropped $100 in the wake of the iPad 2 announcement? Fear not, Apple's 14-day refund policy applies.

Appleunveiled its faster, thinner iPad 2 during a Wednesday press event in San Francisco and immediately kicked its first-generation tablets to the sales bin. All versionsare now $100 cheaper, starting at $399 for the 16GB Wi-Fi-only, first-gen device.

According to Apple'ssales policies, however, if Apple reduces the price of any product within 14 days of purchase, customers can request a refund of the difference between the price paid and the current selling price.

Apple will only honor the $100 refund for two weeks after the price drop - which would be March 16, so those who qualify should head to an Apple store quickly.

The updated iPad 2, meanwhile, is slimmer, includes front- and rear-facing cameras, and runs on a faster A5 dual-core processor. It goes on sale March 11. For more details, seePCMag's hands-on with the iPad 2 and the video below.

We were assured by Apple's sales team that Apple would just give you the 100 price difference, without any complicated returns and exchanges, so you can take advantage of the price drop on the original iPad. Good news! The catch is that you'll need to be within the 14-day returns window, which doesn't leave any wiggle room for those outside of that window. You'll also need your receipt.

Despite the fact that there's a pretty narrow window, it's better than nothing, and means that at least some people haven't been stiffed by the price drop. After all, the iPad event invite only arrived a week ago, leaving us out in the cold until then about the arrival of theiPad 2.
