Aprica – Italy
Aprica is a traditional resort in the commune found in Sondrio
, Lombardy in Northern Italy. It is situated on the eponymous pass, a strategic place linking Valtellina to Val Carmonica. The ski resort has a 40-kilometre direct downhill course with 16 different pistes. Aprica also has 24 ski lifts which can cater to 22,000 persons per hour. It is moderately good for intermediate and expert skiing but the place is excellent for beginners and also snowboarders. One famous run which is just recently developed to accommodate new skiers is the Superpanoramica, which is descends for approximately 6 kilometres.

From the any of the airports, you can rent cars, or take buses to get to the village centre of Aprica. The main ski area of the resort can be only be reached via gondola or chairlift coming from the village which can lift people up to Malga Palaboine. From there, there are a few easy to intermediate trails that will take you back down to the village.
The other alternative route towards the ski area is by riding the Magnolta gondola from the west side of the town. You can then go to the reds and the blues through one chair lift and a couple of drag lifts to ascend. The only way back down besides the gondola is skiing or walking the the black grade two kilometre trail of Infeiore.
Almost 80 percent of the skiing trails have snow making. The Baradello 2000 area was renovated to include brand new chairlifts and five additional runs to welcome the 2005 season. This area is also linked with Palabione and Magnolta. On the other hand, if you want to visit nearby resorts like Bormio, Livigno, and St Moritz, you can opt to start a one day trip onwards any of the resorts.
Since the ski areas in Aprica are very reliable for beginners, the resort is also a favourite alternative for learning how to ski. The ski schools here are popular for hosting half-term and Easter school ski trips for interested students, whether they are children or eager adults. Apres-ski amenities of the resort include saunas, swimming, cinema, spa and sports centre, and skating.
