What e-cigarettes do is vaporize a small container of propylene glycol that's inserted into the mouthpiece, which produces a smoke-like, flavored mist that can be drawn through a tube. Some electronic cigarettes are bulky. With a small extra investment, slimmer models can be acquired. Some look like a real cigarette, while others are disguised as ordinary items like pens so that vapers can sneak in a puff without attracting attention they might not desire.

Even so, e-cigarettes are permitted even in places that ban traditional tobacco products, so an e-cig can be enjoyed while in a bar or coffeehouse without disturbing the other patrons. They come with rechargeable batteries, which usually last about a day. If your starter kit doesn't come with two of them, it's a good idea to buy the extra one so that you can always have one charged and ready to go.

Different flavors are also available for electronic cigarettes.
