Are Near Death Recounts To Be Believed?

There are more and more documented cases of after death experiences

. Because of serious injury or illness, people have been pronounced dead by the medical profession and then been revived later. These same people have also told of their experiences during the time they were considered to be no longer alive.

They had no heartbeat and could not breathe, so, officially, they were dead. What's fascinating about their claims is that these people seem to have shared the same after death experience. It's not as if people are all making a wide variety of claims that hold no similarities to one another. People are genuinely saying many of the same things.

More often than not, people claim to first see visions of lights, followed by pictures of loved ones and family members, all of whom flash before their very eyes. They claim that it's peaceful, and they characterize it by the vision of a tunnel.

The fact that so many people share the same exact experience has led many to believe that there must be some truth behind all of these claims. After all, how could so many documented chronicles all be so similar?

But the medical community tends to be disdainful of this theory. They explain the vision of a tunnel as a lack of blood in the retina. Also, the brain is dealing with a crisis and this might explain the flashing images before the eyes.

There is no doubt, however, in the minds of those people who have been through an after death experience, that it was as real as anything else in their lives.

It seems that this is to remain a mystery as it can't be proved either way. Unless science and spirituality manage to somehow come together in the future, we might only know the truth when we meet our own end,

At any rate the mystery is still being investigated by doctors, as it could help us understand the way the brain functions.
