If you want a cheap website then you will get one and people are not going to like it. If 1000 people visit your website and you only get 1 sale, then you most likely did a very poor job convincing the customer that this product or products were worth the money. It is a good idea to step back a little and be really objective. Would you honestly buy the product you are trying to sell yourself? What can you do to improve? Try a few different things and see what happens, maybe instead of 1 sale every 1000 visitors, you will get 5-6 sales.
