Are You Telling The Truth?

Many of you are lying to yourself

Many of you are lying to yourself. You have been for a while.

Don't get huffy you know it's true and it isn't intentional, but it is happening. I see it day after day after day. Usually it shows up in the form of:

* Unfulfilled promises

* Commitments not kept

* "Things Change" disguising deals broken

* Quitting

OK, so it isn't the most uplifting idea or article ever shared, but if you will take it to heart it might be just the one to change your life and your business. I have spent a lot of time over the last few months studying two things:

1) great speakers; and

2) the truth.

Both interest me greatly and are the next steps for where I am about to go in my business path. I have found that most people are unhappy and most businesses unsuccessful for the exact same reason:

People not being truthful.

So, here is down and dirty steps to getting real, getting honest, and getting ahead fast.

Use these rules in business and in life they are interchangeable.

1) Do what you say you are going to do whatever you have committed to honor it at all costs. Whether that commitment was made to yourself or someone else. Lie enough to yourself and others and nothing you say will hold weight. Do what you say you will do.

2) Do it when you say you will do it don't be late (literally and figuratively) and if you are, don't make excuses. Do it when you say you will. No one wants to work with someone unpredictable. Period.

3) Do it how you said you would do it don't half ass anything. The way you show up and deliver is the exact way you will increase your revenue and your lifestyle.

4) Don't be cheap and tell yourself you are frugal stay in a nice place, tip well, fly first class, give to others, invest deeply in yourself.

5) A deal is a deal one of my favorite motivators/coaches right now says that people that "break deals" are liars (his words not mine, but I do agree) If you over committed oops! If you over extended ick. If you took on too much whoops. Doesn't matter. A deal is a deal. You honor all deals verbal, written, and promised.

6) Make a decision indecision is a form of self abuse. There are only about 2% of things in life we actually ever need to "think" over. We know what we need to do we are just to chicken to do it, so we wait. Make a decision and move on.

7) Balance does not equal procrastination all the time I hear I will not work that hard, I will not go that far or that long because I want to maintain balance. Don't fool yourself into thinking that doing less is balance. The most balanced people I know are really hard workers. They do what they love many for 10-12 hours a day. They have great support, they delegate the things they hate, and they play harder than they work. Balance is joy. Balance is not how hard you do or do not work.

OK, I could go on and on and I may. Maybe a part II next week. The truth will set you free. Know that building a business and life of your dreams takes effort, commitment, and energy. The more real you get the more success you can attain.
