Arizona Cardinals Tickets - Kurt Warner Done, Cardinals Moving On

Nearly every season, a veteran quarterback watch has been instituted as soon as the season ended

. The watch was to see whether some of the most veteran names in the league would be coming back or moving on to retirement. At the top of that list for the last several seasons have been Kurt Warner and Brett Favre. For 2010, Favre decided to return to the Vikings, but Warner decided to hang up his cleats and retire from the Arizona Cardinals. Warner made the decision and hasn't looked back, according to interviews.

Warner spoke with the Arizona Republic, and he revealed that seeing his team start the preseason hasn't made him question his decision to retire. He is still keeping up with his team's progress in the preseason and said, "It wasn't difficult watching [the preseason] all, because I didn't feel like I was supposed to be there. While I still feel attached to it to some degree, it didn't feel like I was missing out on something." He may be watching the Cardinals, but he also has many other career prospects on his horizon.

He will turn his attention back to the National Football League to call a few NFL games this season for Fox. One of his games to call will be when his former team, the Cardinals, face the New Orleans Saints, the defending Super Bowl champions, on Oct. 10. He won't be the only top NFL talent coming on board for Fox this season, as former Seattle Seahawks coach Jim Mora will also work as an analyst for Fox. Warner also spent time in the AFL during his career, and he returned to those roots when he called the Arena Bowl on Aug. 20.

Warner looked like he had potential in college, but he wasn't drafted in the 1994 NFL Draft. Instead, he worked in a grocery store and then played in the AFL. In 1998, he played in NFL Europe for the Amsterdam Admirals and started his career with the Rams later that year. He stayed with the Rams through the 2004 season, helping them to a Super Bowl championship in 1999. He played one season for the New York Giants in 2004 and then switched to the Cardinals in 2005. In his long NFL career, he tallied 32,344 yards, 208 touchdowns and a passer rating of 93.7.

Because of his talent, Kurt Warner caused many fans to rush out for Arizona Cardinals tickets, but there are two men who are ready to take the torch for the team. Derek Anderson and Matt Leinart are fighting for the starting role in 2010. Anderson is in his first season with the Cardinals after spending five seasons with the Cleveland Browns and one with the Baltimore Ravens.

His best season was in 2007 with the Browns, when he tallied 3,787 yards, 29 touchdowns, 19 interceptions and a passer rating of 82.5. Leinart has been with the Cardinals since he entered the league in 2006. He has played backup to Warner and played in eight games last season, starting one. Last year, he finished with 435 yards and a passer rating of 64.6.
