Arnold & Son Dead Beat Seconds Tourbillon

As a complication specialist, Arnold & Son offer three tourbillon that are simply like no other. Dead Beat Seconds was a common feature on the Chinese Caliber during the pocket what era, while in recent years top brands like Audemars Piguet and Panerai have revitalized it on wristwatch. By pairing it with tourbillon, Arnold & Son's Tourbillon Dead Beat is a world-first. Such feat was recognized by the Grand Prix d'Horlogerie de Geneve, which included the piece as a finalist in the best complication category. Measuring 46.5mm in diameter, the case features mobile lugs as well as an interchangeable bezel. On the regular dial, the central jumping seconds hand is a natural focus, while the tourbillon below has a cock-shaped bridge. The dial and the seconds hand are made of solid gold. Revealed by the transparent case back, the 21-jewel manual-winding movement has 21,600 vph and 80-hour power reserve. The bridge affixing the jumping seconds device is shaped like the traditional Celtic Axe not just to connect the piece with the brand's English origin, but also pay tribute to John Arnold's achievement in marine chronometer in an interesting way.

Arnold & Son Grand Moon Tourbillon

Sharing the same case design with Tourbillon Dead Beat, Arnold & Son Grand Moon Tourbillon features a flying tourbillon at 6. The focus of the dial, needless to say, is the over-sized moonphases display on the top. Limited Edition to 30 pieces, the watch is slightly larger with a 47mm diameter. Housing a movement produced by Christophe Claret, the retrograde moon is calculated on it exact synodic period to ensure high-precision performance. The sky blue dial plays host to solid gold hands adorned with a polar star, hour indexes and constellation formed by diamonds. The manual-winding calibre offers 96-hour power reserve. With a transparent case back, the piece, like Tourbillon Dead Beat, is water resistant to 100m.

Arnold & Son Sir John Tourbillon

Among the trio, Sir John Tourbillon is a star. It is an appropriate tribute to the brand's founder, whose advice and escapement had contributed to master Breguet's creation of the first operating tourbillon in 1808. The piece, viewing from this angle, also bears historical significance. With a manual-winding A1767 movement produced by long-term partner La Joux-Perret, the watch has a de-dial layout and transparent case back to fully expose the remarkable configuration and refined finishing of the movement. On the front are three bridge affixing the barrel, axis for time hands and tourbillon respectively. The latter is topped by a steel bridge and has its carriage shaped like the Celtic Axe bridge on Dead Beat Tourbillon. The baseplate on the back, like the front, is adorned with sand=blasted and diamond-polished sunburst guilloche. With a 21,600 vph and 80-hour power reserve, the baseplate and bridges are crafted in black gold. Limited to 25 pieces, the 45 piece with an 11.46mm thickness is available in black gold, pink gold, galvanic black or galvanic blue plated chapter ring.

Arnold & Son Grand Tourbillon Perpetual

Perpetual calendar is Arnold & Son's another specialty. Grand Tourbillon Perpetual, on top tourbillon, also features equation of time for its perpetual calendar. The 45mm piece's dial has the retrograde date display prominently taking up the space of the upper half. Under it is an aperture for equation of time which measures the difference between real and mean solar times. At 3 and 9 are windows for month and day, while the tourbillon carriage at the lower half is topped by a trident seconds hand. Moonphases and leap year indications, meanwhile, are placed on the back, visible via a transparent sapphire. Adopting the manual-winding A1768 movement, the crown at 3 sets time, the buttons at 2 and 10 o'clock adjust date and day, while concealed correctors at 4 and 8 are for month and moonphases correction. Only 5 examples in platinum and 25 in pink gold would be made. A special edition added with a 4-season indication is also offered, limited to 5 in platinum and 20 in pink gold.

Arnold & Son True North Perpetual

True North Perpetual is a masterpiece which features some important innovations in horology. It is the first wristwatch to bring human civil time(the average within a time zone) and the globe as a cosmic clock together, as well as the first timepiece capable of telling true solar time in any given place and the true geographical North. The 45mm watch is fitted with the manual-winding A1794 movement providing 130-hour power reserve. The carefully designed dial and bezel present the complicated functions in a clear and user-friendly manner. The perpetual calendar takes into account leap year indication, double equation of time and moon phases display. A total 25 examples, in either pink gold, white gold or diamond-set, would be made annually.

Arnold & Son Hornet Worldtimer

Compared with the above mentioned complicated pieces, the watches here are relatively simple. They make more sense, however, than many so-called "complication" of other brands. As its name implies, Hornet Worldtimer is a world time watch. With 4 crowns and buttons and 6 hands, the crown at 3 adjusts time and date, the button at 2 sets time zone, while another two crowns at 9 and 10 set the world time bezel and real solar time. The black dial has an arch below the central axis with the hands and indexes in contrasting white for equation of time. It is rimmed by a circular month scale with a twin-aperture date at 5 o'clock. On the central axis are hands for time, month, equation of time and real solar time. The 47mm watch has a self-winding A1766 movement and is water resistant to 50m.

Arnold & Son The Battle of Trafalgar

Back then, Arnold & Son was the supplier of marine timepieces to Admiral Lord Nelson's fleet. To commemorate the famous Battle of Trafalgar in 1805 in which Nelson's fleet defeated the invincible Napoleon force comprising the French and Spanish navies, Arnold & Son has launched the 3-piece Hornet History Collection with hand-painted miniature depicting the scenes of the battle in immaculate details. Limited to 25 pieces each, the pieces are crafted in 18k pink gold. "H.M.S Victory" shows Nelson's ship, the Victory and other British ships in formation for the famous fight. On the dial of "The Battle of Trafalgar", the Victory cut into the enemy line of French man-of-wars. On "Nelson's Demise", the fatally wounded hero lied on the deck, his soul finally rested in peace after his sweeping victory. It is understood that to cope with the taste of the Asian market, the brand are preparing limited sets that carry themes familiar to the Asian people.

Arnold & Son True Moon

Moonphases watches are everywhere, yet True Moon stands out with its ability to keep precise track of the true waxing and waning of the moon, thanks to a world-first mechanism those calculation is based on the exact synodic period corresponding to 29 days 12 hours and 44 minutes.
