Aromatherapy refers to a holistic treatment of caring for the body using pleasant smelling botanical oils like rose, lemon, lavender and peppermint. The essential oils are either added to the bath or massaged into the skin, directly inhaled by the individual or diffused to perfume a whole room. Aromatherapy has various significant uses. It helps to relieve pain, nourish the skin, alleviate stress and anxiety and rejuvenate the entire body.
Essential oils are, in fact, sweet-smelling aromatic essences that are extracted from plants, flowers, trees, fruits, bark, grasses and seeds. They are known for their unique therapeutic, psychological, and physiological properties, which help in preventing illnesses. Essential oils have the powerful capability to stimulate the sense of smell. Most of the essential oils have antiseptic properties. Some of them help in mental stimulation, relaxation and improvement of digestive processes.
