Art Horoscope:the November Perspective By Leigh Oswald
The spread of collective discontent with the current global socioeconomic regime
is growing. The outer planets Uranus, Neptune and Pluto are the slow-moving heavyweight planets that signify great generational, historical and global shifts. These are not in our script and happen to us collectively and it is our global karma to live through these seemingly appointed changes at specific times in human history; whether it be war, revolution, starvation, drought, technological leaps, holocausts, geophysical-geopolitical upheaval, depressions, epidemics, etc. To assume that what we have experienced in our own lifetime (less than a blink of an eye) is the norm is at the least nave and arrogant. When politicians and economists talk of a return to economic health, or refer to a normal cycle and boom and bust, and a return to the status quo of business as usual, they are only looking at the historical perspective of relatively very recent times. There is no reason why these recent patterns will continue to repeat in the same predictable way, as they belong to a certain limited era in our history. We have uniquely now a world population whose collective ecological footprint can overwhelm the planet. It has just passed the 7 billion mark. There are only two certainties in life, change and death. Other civilizations have risen and died in the history of the world; why are we so arrogant as to think we are any different? Our seeming advance in knowledge and sophistication is in no way a protection against a civilization collapse. In fact we have in many ways accelerated the likelihood, because of this very sophistication. And for the first time in history, crisis and collapse is totally contagious because of globalization. New orders may well rise out of the ashes of the old, if we are lucky and wise enough to know when our consciousness has to change to ensure survival. The need to share equally, responsibly and fairly is the only hope. Macrocosmic endings of cycles of being and of consciousness are inevitable in the course of human history and are flagged up periodically by the outer planets, either causally or correlatively (who knows?).
It seems we are facing such a time.
As the current outer planetary positions denote, this was inevitable and will build till next year when there will be a probable explosion of protest. Uranus (rebellion and the search for a new future) is now in Aries (power of assertive populations) and travels through that sign till March 2019. This will continue to encourage the occupy movement or the indignados or the we are the 99% group. They (and most people) are all collectively now aware of the impossibility of and the increasing distortion of the current capitalist model, which bears no relation to what it was even 20-30 years ago. These protesters by and large dont want to smash capitalism, they are not extreme lefties; they just want some balance. They want a return to a more social democratic form of capitalism and to have a society whose values they respect. They want change now, so as to avoid what they know in their waters is a really scary implosion coming soon down the line.
