Arthritis - An Excruciating Life
Joint pains are often the most painful
Joint pains are often the most painful. If it because of arthritis you already know how bad the suffering can get. Arthritis is mostly joint inflammation that causes swelling, pain, limited motion as well as stiffness in and around the targeted area. Another term used to describe this condition is called joint inflammation.
Dealing with arthritis and the symptoms is not an easy task. Excruciating pain has been reported by people who suffer with arthritis. If you have experienced any of the above mentioned symptoms you most likely are having arthritis episodes. From joint pain that includes fingers, elbow, knee, ankle, feet, back and etc and including joint swelling, trouble moving the joint freely, joint areas that experience redness and warmth and limited flexing of the joints all point to arthritis and its symptoms.
General reasons or causes can be many things. Arthritis is caused when the cartilage of the joint wears down. The cartilage is a firm, elastic and rubbery type of tissue that protects our joints. Movement of the joint is padded by the cartilage for the bones not to create friction. It is the shock absorber of the joint when certain impacts are developed due to walking and running, these are cases where the leg joints are being utilized. Activities such as gripping, boxing and stretching create certain force in the arm joints where the cartilage is protecting the joint to avoid friction. Wearing down of the cartilage would mean unprotected bones in the joint thus creating pain and swelling of the affected area.
Specific reasons create arthritis and could also be caused by an autoimmune disease. This medical term describes what happens when the body attacks itself, thinking it is being invaded by a foreign body and is a perceived threat to the immune system. Other causes include broken bones where the cartilage is damaged and therefore cannot function properly. Old folks and seniors typically experience arthritis due to old age taking its toll on the body. Bacteria and viruses that cause infection that lead to a lower immune system have also been known to cause arthritis to develop.
Arthritis shows up in many forms. Juvenile rheumatoid is a arthritis that attacks children. Also, there is Gonococcal arthritis, adult Still's disease, gout or gouty arthritis, fungal infections such as Blastomycosis and Osteoarthritis as well as Ankylosing Spondylitis.
Osteoarthritis is the most common type of arthritis of all the types known. Mostly because it is generally brought on by old age and the person can actually feel the pain in the joints. Hips, knees, ankles, fingers and elbows are just the beginning of the areas touched by this arthritis. It will produce severe excruciating pain that can be felt at specific times of the day or throughout the whole day and is also the result of cold weather. Pain relievers are the only recourse for many victims. Consult your doctor to get the proper pain relievers for the type of arthritis you are experiencing.
