This is in my experience the most important step. Before you start writing and selling anything you must do some research. You probably have some idea about a product or affiliate offer that you want to promote but before you do use Google to find out what are you chances of making some money.

Try to target a phrase related to any product you want to promote that has between 1000 to 5000 optimized results on Google. This means that if you search any phrase in quotes you will get the number of sites you are competing with.

Then go to Google keyword tool and find out how many searches there are for that phrase. Anything above 500 a month is fine and remember you can always find another product to promote if this doesnt match up.

3.How to create quality content that will generate clicks and sales

This is the second most important step. You have to be able to write good and quality content around your keyword phrase. If you are article marketing newbie and think you are not able to do that at this point hire someone to do this for you and study and learn so you can do it yourself.
