The first example is just too broad and if you write an article using that keyword you're likely to be buried on page 60,000 of search results.

The second is more likely to rank high in search results and it's more targeted to a specific reader.

2. Identify the right niche and understand your audience.

This is one of the most important article marketing secrets you'll learn. You can't simply write to a generic audience and hope to get readers and results. You really have to focus on a narrow niche (example above - someone who wants to sell online pet products). Here are a few questions that can help you with this analysis as well as help you put great content in your article.

4. Why do they need this?

5. How can my offer help or benefit them?
