Article Marketing Strategies: 5 Ways To Get Your Creative Juices Flowing

The most challenging part of writing and submitting articles is getting started

. Not knowing what to write about can cause you to procrastinate and dread sitting down to write.

On the flip side, if you have an article marketing strategy for getting your creative juices flowing, then you can actually look forward to writing.

If you want to write articles and you're putting it off because you're not sure what to write about, try one of these 5 ways to boost your creativity:

1 - Keep a list of thought provoking questions that your customer and clients have asked you. These questions can form the basis of new articles.

2 - You can also compile questions that you see being posted on blogs in your niche (look in the comments--many times people will ask questions in the comments, and the answers would make a great article topic).

3 - Get your body moving.

When you exercise, your adrenaline gets flowing, your heart is pumping, and your mind is more clear. You can have your best ideas when you're biking around town, walking around your neighborhood, mowing the lawn or working out in the gym.

If you're stuck for something to write about, try getting up from your desk and taking a walk around the block. Listen to music if you like--you might be surprised at the ideas you have when you're doing physical activity.

4 - Go to the bookstore and look at the magazines. Find a magazine that is somewhat related to your niche, and browse through it. Especially, look at the titles--what titles are catching your eye? How could you cover that topic from your own point of view?

5 - Go some place unusual to write.

I don't know what it is about getting out of the office that makes writing ideas come more easily, but I experience it every time I work from the library, the coffee shop or a hotel room. There can be noise all around me (even in the library), but being in the new environment helps me concentrate.

Sometimes being in a place that is full of distractions can actually be easier to concentrate in that your own home. Even though your home may be quiet, there are usually distractions there that are much more powerful--bills laying on the counter, the trash that is overflowing, the lawn that needs to be mowed. At home, even though you're sitting in your office your mind can be a million other places. Try leaving home for an afternoon this week and see if you find it easier to concentrate on your work.

And take heart that even the most avid writer experiences writer's block at some point. It's a phase that you will work through, and you will eventually start to write again. Use these tips listed here to work through any mental blocks. Some may work better than others for you at stimulating your creativity and focusing your concentration.
