Article Marketing Strategy...Your First $100
Are you an article writer new to the game? Have you just decided to use article marketing as your desired method of getting targeted visitors? Well good for you because it is my belief that for new marketers, and seasoned marketers just starting to use article marketing to increase traffic, there isn't a better way to do it!
In baseball, the toughest three outs in the game are the last three. For new article marketers and network marketers, the toughest $100 is their first $100. I know what you are thinking, "$100? Is he kidding? I want to make more than that!" Of course you do, but in order to run, you learn to crawl and walk first.
The name of the game with income opportunities online is one thingtargeted traffic. If you have trouble generating traffic, you're sunk.
There is no sense buying into a system developed by a guru' if you don't understand the basic traffic secrets that you can do without a system.
This is where article marketing comes in. Anyone can do it, and when done correctly, can reach laser targeted traffic. Not only that, this is free traffic. Isn't that what we all want, especially when we are just starting out with a small budget?
Okay, you need traffic in order to make money online, and article marketing is the best way to do it. Now what?
The first thing you need to know is how to get your articles in front of the people who are looking for what you are promoting right? Simply writing an article and submitting it to an article directory isn't enough. You need people who are desperate for what you have. They are already searching for your product.
How do we accomplish this? Keyword research. It took me awhile to master this. When you're writing for money, it is paramount to your success to get in front of your targeted prospects immediately. Good keyword research can put you in the #1 position for the keyword phrase desperate consumers are searching for.
Please understand there are two types of people searching the web. Those who are looking for information, and those looking for a solution. Our goal here is to learn how to make money now. Those people looking for information are the ones you target to put on a list. You are writing articles for people who know what they want.
When I say keyword research I don't necessarily mean finding what keywords to fill my article content with. The easiest way to get top spot for a Google phrase is to find a hot phrase which is in the title. You can search this in Google by writing allintitle:(keyword phrase here). This will show the list of your competitors.
My rule of thumb is to find a phrase with less than 5,000 competitors and 5 or more ads to the right. Those ads to the right are people bidding for the keywords in your phrase, so you know it is popular. How do you come up with popular phrases somebody desperate for what you are promoting is looking for?
Okay example time. Let's talk about someone with acne. Are they looking for information, or a solution? Yes of course, a solution. So what would a person with acne put in search box? Acne cure? Maybe, but that is too competitive a phrase for us. How about natural acne cure? That narrows it down too. Try this, natural acne solution. 500 competitors and a bunch of advertisers! It can be as simple as using the same idea with different words to find a winner!
Now, what keywords to use in the article? This is like cheating. Copy the address of the top one or two results for acne solution. Plug them into Google keyword tool under 'address'. Somewhere on the page it gives you an option to look by "phrase". Choose that. Voila.
Your reader will be looking for a solution right? Thats why we targeted them. But you are offering an article with information. What does this mean? You need this article to be a presell. What does your affiliate product do? What does it solve? Your article needs to identify the readers problem, then lead up to the resource box which gives the solution, your affiliate link.
