Every word contained within the curly brackets are randomly picked and substituted as a synonym to its equivalent word to produce a new spun version of the sentence. So for our example sentence we will have these spun versions generated:

Rewriting stories is a rewarding hobby.

Revising articles is a gratifying hobby.

Revising stories is a rewarding pastime.

There are article spinners that can spin phrases with their equivalent meaning. This way you will have different words all spun at once without having to replace each word with its corresponding synonym. The phrase or idiom "beat around the bush" can be substituted with the word "pussyfoot" or "prevaricate". You can tell obviously that you will get a different meaning when you substitute each word of the phrase with a synonym.
