Aspirations Of Medical Transcription

I wish to become a Medical Transcriptionist for several reasons

. I have recently made a career change to the Healthcare Industry. Prior to this move, I was employed in the Financial Services field. While I have experienced financial success and personal fulfillment helping others achieve their dreams of financial freedom, I have discovered in myself a desire for a more meaningful career in healthcare. A move from Boston to Florida with my young family has allowed me the opportunity to reevaluate my priorities and pursue this goal. Upon leaving Financial Services, I went to work for a startup company as an Independent Consultant selling medical billing services. This position allowed me the opportunity to call on and network with local physicians practices, a job I soon discovered I enjoyed tremendously. A change in the direction of the company has led me to explore other careers in the Medical Industry.

I have recently completed a medical sales training course offered through NAMSR (National Association of Sales Representatives) and am now a certified Registered Medical Sales Representative. I am pursuing a medical transcriptionist designation to continue to add to my knowledge and understanding of all aspects of medical terminology as this is the foundation upon which I will build a successful healthcare career. I am confident that Future MTs comprehensive program including the anatomy, disease, surgical techniques, medical imaging, and diagnostic testing and treatments along with the practical application course design will prepare me for the real world environment. This expertise will enable me to establish a solid footing in medical transcribing. Certainly, the flexibility provided by the Medical Transcription vocation is important to me.

I am currently enrolled in Kaplan Universitys online degree program to obtain a Masters of Health Care Administration. The ability for me to work from home and set my own hours will allow me to earn income while completing this degree. Being able to do this while gaining valuable skills in my desired field is a winning combination. I am also a volunteer at a local hospital and will be dedicating 4-8 hours per week in this capacity. I enjoy this as I am able to receive hospital protocol experience while giving back to my community. Once again, being able to balance my time will be extremely helpful in ensuring my success. Needless to say, being able to spend quality time weekly with my wife and two children is essential to my ability to remain happy, healthy, and successful in all future endeavors. SN:0TG9Y2ESY

Based on research Ive conducted on similar online medical transcription courses offered at a medical transcription university and an accredited institution, I feel confident that the course load materials and guidance provided by Future MT is the most cost and time efficient. I am highly motivated to achieve a certification as a Medical Transcriptionist as this is a pertinent qualification in the fulfillment of my immediate and long term goals.
