If you could go back in a time machine to visit the Outer Banks of North Carolina

thirty years ago you would see a very different place from today"s bustling vacation spot. Back in 1982 the towns of Duck and Corolla could only be reached by a dirt road and cottages and vacation rental homes were sprinkled across the landscape. In Kitty Hawk a new company called Atlantic Realty was being developed from Realty World Real Estate that would focus on vacation rentals at a time when vacation rental homes for anyone but the rich was a new idea.

The last thirty years have been heady times for that Outer Banks Vacation home rental company. It has seen many changes in the community that it serves. There has been a flood of families coming out to enjoy the wild and beautiful scenery and small town comfort in the many Outer Banks vacation rental homes that they manage. To kick off their celebration of thirty years helping families have a glorious Outer Banks vacation, Atlantic Realty has posted a photo contest of vacation rental homes memories on its Facebook page inviting past visitors to share their photos and stories of holidays in the Outer Banks.

Many families that started coming out all those years ago have grown to love the area and have returned over the years, sometimes even to the same vacation rental homes. Those memories and stories are what the company is looking to share, as they look back on thirty years of watching the smiles on the faces of vacationing families.The celebration will run all year with a variety of special contests, promotions and giveaways.This initial photo contest is a unique opportunity for many families that have visited the Outer Banks and stayed at one of the many Atlantic Realty vacation rental homes to share those stories of good times with others.

They are hoping the contest will send past vacation rental guests scurrying through old photo albums to dig out holiday memories. Photos and stories will be posted on Atlantic Realty"s Facebook page where fans and guests to the page can vote for their favorite. As an extra incentive for submitting your Outer Banks vacation memories to the contest, Atlantic Realty will be awarding prizes based on votes received on Facebook. The Grand Prize will be a complimentary three night stay at one of the beautiful oceanfront condo vacation rentals in Duck. There will also be a First Prize of a free portrait seating to add to your vacation family memories and a Second Prize award of a $100 gift certificate for one of several local restaurants.

Just as they have for the last thirty years, today Atlantic Realty continues to give the care and service that many of those long ago families on vacation have come to expect. They invite everyone to participate in this celebration of thirty years spent helping families from across the nation and around the world discover the joys of an Outer Banks vacation.
