Atlantic Toyota and Huntington Toyota want to share with all Long Island Toyota owners and shoppers that three Toyota models were officially ranked in the top 10 for lowest insurance claims for stolen vehicles.The insurance theft losses that were reviewed covered 2007-09 passenger vehicles.

The three vehicles named by the Highway Loss Data Institute, an affiliate of the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety, that are in the top 10 were the Prius Hybrid, Tacoma 4x4 Double Cab pickup truck and Sienna all-wheel-drive van. The overall theft losses take into account the rate the insurance claims are filed and also the size of the payments for claims. This gives customers a little peace of mind knowing that these Toyota vehicles are taken care of quickly when insurance claims are filed.

Of the total average claims, the vehicles in the top 10 ranked had overall theft losses of less than 15 percent. What's more is the average increase in an insurance payment for the vehicles in the top 10 are less than one-third of the overall average increase for other vehicles. This shows that Atlantic Toyota and Huntington Toyota owners of one of the three Toyotas included on this top 10 list may be assured that their payment increase will be lower than the average. This makes it easier to feel safe if some form of theft did occur.
