If your pet is showing indicators of allergies take them to your veterinarian and debate possible treatments. From there, you and your vet can then decide on a plan that's the best fit for you and also your pet. Cortisone, a steroid, will stop the symptoms mostly it does have lots of side-effects if used long-term, so be cautious about giving cortisone orally or giving cortisone injections on a long-term basis.
