Attending Your Highschool Reunion

The idea of high school is more often than not met with disdain from a good number of people who just wanted to forget it ever happened

. After all, each day was an opportunity for one to embarrass themselves or make a new nick name for themselves that does a terrible job defining them, forcing them to feel alienated. We have all had this happen to us, and it is no surprise it happens most often in high school when we seem to be at our most immature, but one must understand that like high school, this is just a stage of immaturity, and is not always indicative of the way people will always remain. That is why if you are having some hesitations about going to your highschool reunion, you may want to table them.

However, by not going to a highschool reunion celebration, one may miss out on a big part of what growing up is all about. These reunions are meant to show that.

As far as high school reunions go, they are almost always had in the gym of one's old high school, allowing you the chance to sort of revisit the halls you walked each day before things were getting better.

Even if one's experience was nearly all bad, there had to be one or two good days that the school inspired, and it's best to remember those.

Not that the bad are easily forgotten however, surely not, and it can be challenging to get over them, but at a reunion you are giving a whole world you left behind a second chance. That is a pretty notable sign of growing up on your part if you are able to go and find out whether or not people have matured. For all you know though, some people may remember you in positive ways you would not have expected, maybe making a new fond memory out of high school.

In fact, one may actually end up rekindling or embarking on a new friendship that could last the rest of one's life, the pair of people never realizing how good a fit as friends they actually were.

Granted there might be a slim chance of this happening, but it is something to consider, and would be a grown up move on one's part to try.

Now, all one needs to remember the next time a highschool reunion circles around is that there may be a ripe opportunity for you to renew the past. After all, it can be hard to carry around the memory of the past, especially if it is remarkably bad, and so one should take advantage of the rare chances to correct that memory. Or perhaps, at least, make a new memory to take on into the future with them. That is really the best way to look at a high school reunion, as a second chance to reclaim the image of yourself that you were never putting forward, and really understand that you fit into high school in a larger way than others may have made you feel.
