Attraction Marketing Strategy for Facebook and MySpace

In this article we cover attraction marketing principles and their application to social networks such as MySpace and FaceBook

. Although the strategy used isn't the usual attraction marketing approach of making a compelling offer in order to capture email, building a list, etc., the concepts are similar. On social networks, you personally become the "bait" vs. a free report, ebook, or training offer. In order to use this strategy, you first need to create personal (not business-oriented) profiles on FaceBook, MySpace, etc. Then decide what approach you will use.

On the social netwoks, you'll find three types of profiles:

* Total commercial for one's business Most consider this type of page as sales-oriented and expect to be "pitched." We don't recommend this type page, which may lead to spam complaints when trying to connect with people.

* Part business, part personal People will communicate cautiously if at all, waiting for the page owner to make their sales pitch. This is better approach but still not recommended, unless you are already a 6-figure earner or better.


* All about you, no business Magnetically attracts people to you. This is the recommended approach.

Personal branding can be accomplished in one of three ways:

* A person wildly successful and/or happy We recommend this as the best approach even if you're just getting started. One way to leverage this method is to post motivational messages on your profile at least a couple times daily. What quotes and authors have helped you in your life? Share these things with your network.

* As an expert Also a good approach, but requires some expertise and credentials already in place.

* As a successful network marketing professional Not recommend since you'll be limited to those aready in MLM/network marketing.


Once your pages are created and/or adjusted for your particular plan, begin by linking with old friends and making new friends. Use the memory jogger from your network marketing company to remind youself of those you need to connect with. If you don't have access to network marketing training materials, refer to the Yellow Pages categories to remind you of people to add to your network.

If you're in network marketing, you might not want to listen to the trainers in your company. That is, especially if they're advising you to be aggressive in approaching your social media friends with an "elevator" speech. You'll find many "newbies" on the social networks doing this and unfortunately it doesn't work. Rather you need to question people conversationally to determine a need in their life for your products and/or business opportunity. It's most effective to never approach anyone without first finding a need. When approached correctly, your friends will ask you what you do, believing that it was their idea for you to share information with them about your business and/or products.
