Recently I decided that it was again time to make use of those remaining days left
in my holiday and take a much needed break to one of my favorite places in the Cape Peninsula ,Franschhoek.
I took some time to have a look at nice accommodation to stay in and ended up making use of a stunning guest house , the Auberge Alouette that was recommended to me by a friend.
Upon my arrival I was greeted by staff that were very accommodating and made me feel right at home, they escorted me to my room which was decorated with beautiful canvas paintings. Wall heaters ensure that even during winter a warm cozy environment is maintained.
All the rooms have high ceilings and ceiling fans that provide a comfortable living space during summer.
Some of the public areas available for use in the guesthouse include the breakfast room ,lounge and the area I made most use of the pool area.
I took some time to wonder in the pristine and well kept garden and found myself enjoying the fresh air and subtle breezes.
Franschhoek is a great place to stay and the views are picturesque, not unlike the spectacular views that the Western Cape has been known for .
