Audi Encourages Safety With The New 2012 Audi A6 And The Drivers Pledge

How many times have you narrowly escaped an accident on the roads in Orange County only to look up and see that the other driver was texting

, drinking coffee, or talking to the passengers in the back of their car rather than paying attention to you or the road? How many more times have you been the distracted driver? Audi understands that drivers have a lot on their minds and plates and has created an initiative to help make the road a safer place for everyone. With the launch of the new 2012 Audi A6, Audi has also introduced the Driver's Pledge.

Earning the highest safety rankings from IIHS, the 2012 Audi A6 was engineered to help drivers stay focused and in control. Audi is now turning back to consumers by asking drivers to do their part to help make the streets safer for everyone by taking the "Driver's Pledge" online. Participants agree to a series of pledges that focus on smarter, more responsible behaviors behind the wheel such as:

-Keeping hands on the wheel and off the lattes

-Slowing vs. speeding at yellow lights

-Avoiding texting, reading, and grooming while driving

-Watching for bikers, pedestrians, and whatever else may enter the road

-Maintaining proper lane speeds

Once drivers have taken the pledge, they can share their commitment and encourage others to join by posting the pledge to their blog or Facebook and twitter accounts. Pledgers will also be entered to win a trip for two to the Audi Sportscar Experience Challenge at the Audi Forum in Sonoma, California.

2012 Audi A6 Coming to Orange County, California
