Audi Ends 2010 On A High

In October of 2010 Audi had predicted it would surplus its annual sales forecast but no one could guess they would do so well

. During 2010 Audi sold 1,092,400 units, which is its best ever in terms of annual sales. Germany was once again the top sales country with 229,157 units sold; China was right behind with 227,938 units a record amount.

Audi broke another record in the USA, breaking the 100,000 units milestone for the first time, in the UK 99,282 units were sold which is up by 9.5% year on year. Peter Schwarzenbauer, Member of the Board of Management for Marketing and Sales at AUDI AG was very pleased with the sales figures and said, "We have set a historic sales record on the US-market, while achieving the best earnings in the United States in a long time. In the next few years we will bring our successful TDI clean diesel technology to the executive class: We will offer our US customers TDI engines also in the new generation of the Audi A6 and A8. This will significantly bolster our position in this segment."

The unexpected record sales in China almost caught Audi out, by the end of the year they were running low on new car stock to ship out to dealerships. In all, the company delivered 227,938 cars to customers in China between January and December 2010, which is 43.4% more than the previous year.

In December alone Audi AG handed 18,186 cars over to their buyers. With 23,950 units, AUDI AG sold 36.4% more cars in December 2010 compared to the same month last year. Sales in Europe for December also rose significantly, 52,000 units were sold which is an increase of 18.2% compared to last December. 2010 has been a good year for Audi Suffolk as well as around the world, lets see what 2011 brings.
