Auditions to be held for dancing roles in Christmas pantomime

Auditions are to be held in Southport to find dancers to appear in the Christmas pantomime.

On 20 October, auditions will be held to find dancers aged between 14 and 30 to appear alongside Liberty X star Michelle Heaton in the Christmas production of Aladdin.

The pantomime will also star other celebrities such as Brendan Sheerin from Channel 4's Coach Trip and Britain's tallest man, Neil Fingleton as the Genie of the lamp.

The extras need to be at least 5ft 2in and producers are looking for both males and female dancers that are versatile enough to tackle a range of styles.

The auditions will be taking place on 20 October at 5.30pm at Southport Theatre and Convention Centre's Lakeside Suite.

Producers will be on the lookout for talented dancers in a range of dancing styles, especially those whose interests like in street, commercial jazz and ballet.

Although the role will be unpaid, there is sure to be a lot of interest, in particular from students who may be looking for some worthwhile experience for their CVs with a well renowned theatre company.

For successful dancers, rehearsals will commence on 29 November with the pantomime opening on 9 December, running in to the New Year until 2 January.

The Southport Theatre Convention Centre has a large traditional theatre, domed ballroom and a conference and exhibition centre. It also has a new four star hotel and a number of function rooms.

There are also a number of other shows planned over the next few months. This includes some of the UK's best comedian stand up shows from talents such as Sean Lock and Jimmy Carr. There will also be plenty for music fans as the Johnny Cash road show, The Hollies and The Magic of Motown will also be staged.
