Bearded dragonn is the name given to various lizards in central Australia. These lizards are typically defined by jagged scales on their neck and the sanction of their membrane. The bearded agamid typically lives over the dry desert regions of inland Australia, these lizards possess powerful skills to cope with the hardships.

The bearded dragon can reach a total length of around 15 to 21 inches from the pedagogue to verso, and weigh some 15 to 20 pounds. The scales situated in rows covering the bodies of the lizards are vital tools of the survival of the individual and perhaps the species. These lizards grow the scales around their throats, an imposing feat to threaten their resister. They can also change colour, the colour of the spiky scales on the throat changes to a deep black when threatened or as a mating display. And the colour of their body can change to a very pale, almost white shade when the weather is cold to a deep red or grey when it is hot.

The bearded agamids inhabit the hard desert regions and dry woodlands of Australia. These dragons have modified themselves greatly to this location despite the immense deficiency of nutrients. These little creatures are diurnal and omnivorous meaning that the diet consists, usually, of a variety of insects, and as advantageously as plants. These liZards are usually seen basking on the road and rocks in the embryotic morning and afternoon. If the temperature becomes too hot, these lizards incline to holes in the ground and rocks. They are surpassing climbers and thence, are mostly seen on branches of trees and in bushes. They prefer a temperature level of 80 degrees Fahrenheit in the day and 60 degrees at night.

Compared to distinguishable types of lizards, bearded dragons are cordial and tranquil in nature and are thus, wise to get as pets, more-so among new keepers. Individual species of this lizard are bred by enthusiasts, the most common among which is the Pogona vitticeps species, or Central Bearded Dragon. In captivity, these lizards feast on green foliate vegetables, and various insects like crickets and wood-roaches.

Bearded dragonns are the most popular pet in the Australian reptile scene, closely followed by aussie pythons. Pythons would be held in captivity more if it wasn't for the fear associated with snakes. But bearded dragonns make a great alternative.
