You know you live in the lucky country when our unemployment figures continue to decline, even when the world is on the verge of recession, or in fact, declared to be in recession. As the Australian Bureau of Statistics results illustrate, Australian employment is doing very well indeed. The 12-month performance to May 2010 showed a steady rise in the number of employed persons; just the way we like it (and need it).

Armed with this knowledge, your Australian employment prospects improve exponentially with what you learn that you can bring to the table in a new position. In fact, this kind of approach to job seeking is just as effective in any role. Imagine how you could position yourself as the ideal candidate in an interview by being able to converse with the interviewer not just answer their questions about the industry, the company and the immediate surroundings. It's sure to make a memorable impression.

Finding a job in Australia may be easier than overseas, but you owe it to yourself and to any future employers to set yourself up as the right person for the job, before you even apply for it.
